2013 Activity Log

Kokanee Power and its members are involved with many projects throughout the year beyond the eight derbies in California. Here's a quick synopsis of some of the 2013 activities that have been featured previously on the Kokanee Power What's Happening section on the Home page or in our newletters. Many of our projects are documented in our Photo Galleries or Message Forums where you can see and read first hand reports of many of these events.

Little Truckee Egg Collection #2 - Another round of egg take at Taylor creek which netted around 917,760 eggs. All eggs are sent to the San Joaquin Friant Hatchery for processing. Click on the link for details.
Little Truckee Egg Collection #1 - Kokanee Power and Project Kokanee volunteers worked with the DFG for the Kokanee egg take which netted around 780,000 eggs. All eggs are sent to the San Joaquin Friant Hatchery for processing. Click on the link for details.
Scholarship - Ian Mahaffey was the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship. He was instrumental at the Chester High School hatchery and will be pursuing environmental sciences.
DFG Kids Fishing Program receives Kokanee Power Support - For multiple years Kokanee Power has supported this summer long kids fishing program that creates a lot of smiles and is very popular. Click on the link for details. $930 was donated this year toward the program.
C.A.S.T for Kids Foundation - Kokanee Power donaated 500.00 for this special group that supports kids with special needs.
Kokanee Power Donates $500.00 to CSBA - Kokanee Power donated $500.00 towards the CSBA Isleton Derby to help with kids expenses.
Scottish Rite - English Learning Center Fishing Day - KP donated $500.00 to this great cause to help support their efforts.
ISE Show - Kokanee Power kicked off the year at the ISE show.
