We launched at the west wildlife refuge. Friday started with a good luck charm in the form of an albino deer crossing the river.
After a few snapshots, we jetted over to our first drift. It only took a few minutes to get our first "slammon" of the day....and nice one at that.
It was a mix of some darkies and some nice brights throughout the day but fun, fun, fun under the sun.
Saturday, the guides were coming out of the woodwork and we knew we would have an interesting time matching Friday's action but I had a couple of good sticks and my ringer little Ryan. We backtrolled kwikfish for the first hour which only gave us one hookup. We switched over to roe and Mike was the first to slime up the boat.

When the sun came up, it was time for sun glasses, roe, and more fun.
The afternoon proved to be better bitewise as the guides slowly vacated the river. Drifting the Feather River again after a few years of not being able to sure felt good. And the catching was just a bonus.
Thanks to Mike, James, and Ryan for a crazy, honey badger two days on the river.
