Tomorrow's Pardee Derby & MORE!

Postby Gary Coe » Fri May 16, 2008 7:58 am

Good Morning,

Just a quick note on tomorrow's activities, namely the PK Pardee Derby and the big open house / sale / seminars day at Elkhorn Bait & Tackle in Rio Linda.

A few months ago Kokanee Power moved the Don Pedro Derby back to May 31st. The fishing should be better at DP in a couple of weeks and we wanted to avoid a conflict with the Project Kokanee Pardee Derby being held tomorrow. This is something that former PK President Nelsen Money and I had discussed doing to hopefully increase the participation of both events. Why should a fisherman have to choose which event to attend (and which event to miss) if it can avoided? The answer is they shouldn't!

I'll be fishing Pardee tomorrow and I hope to see many of you there. I also hope to see many of you at Don Pedro in two weeks. I think it would be great to have a good KP showing tomorrow and I think it would be equally great to see a bunch of new faces at DP. It's about the FISH... and having some fun!

If you can't make the fish thing, Elkhorn Bait & Tackle is having a big open house and sale tomorrow beginning at 10:00am. Bob Simms will be the MC, seminars speakers include our very own KP Vice Pres, John Minnis giving you the latest scoop on what's up in the Sierra's. And we'll have our 20' North River Seahawk on display with Director Randy Bergquist on hand selling raffle tickets for it. There's only about a month left to get your tickets. Someone is going to WIN a very nice boat. If you haven't bought your tickets or seen the boat, tomorrow's your chance at Elkhorn Bait & Tackle!

I'm sure there will be further details of both events on tomorrow's Bob Simms' Outdoor Show on KFBK 1530. The show starts at 5am and is packed full of the latest "no bull" fishing & hunting news for the next three hours.

Have a great day and thanks,

A short follow-up about last weekends events:

First of all, thanks to Randy, John, Vickie & I'm not sure who all for braving that heat all day up @ Elkhorn. And you sold boat raffle tickets and memberships! Fantastic!!

And on to Pardee. Boy am I proud as punch of our great membership showing up and supporting that derby. That's the way we need to be..and that's what our fisheries need too. Way to go!

On a more personal note, I enjoyed the heck out of fishing with Nelsen Money. We had a blast. Getting along regardless of organizational ties is the way to go too.

Once again, thank you all.
