Sac River, Grimes 11/10-11

Went to Grimes on Sunday after the fiasco with Gary Schoonhoven and his son Casey. Stayed at Grimes boat landing and RV park. We fished hard Monday & Tuesday probably covering over 30 miles of water a day. Unfortunately we didn't get any salmon. We did see several get caught in front of us and saw several boats with them hanging. Still was an enjoyable two days of fishing learned a lot about that section of the river, Al's little honey hole. All let these pictures tell the story about the place and the river. We came up from Knights Landing on Highway 45 the RV park is about a mile below Grimes.

Launching your boat there is done by sling, it's quite an experience seeing your boat 35+ feet above the water.

This is the café run by Deb. She's trying to fix the place up. We had a great Tri-tip dinner Sunday night. Had a delicious breakfast every morning there. Where can you get a breakfast that you can't finish for 5.95. All the hospitality like being at home. She'll even make you a lunch for you out on the boat. If you get a chance stop by and support this gal. Once we lose places like this they're gone forever.

There she is making salmon lures.

Well I thought I would end it with a fish picture, unfortunately it's not mine but this guy did catch a nice chrome.

I will be going back, had a great time even without catching fish.

nice pics. Your boat looks a lot smaller on that liftt than I am sure it actually is. There is a lift like that up at Point Arena. See you at tonight's meeting.
