Saturday, had a nice breakfast and headed out. Wind was was gusting to over 35 mph. Luckily it was blowing out of the north. Made a long troll then about 2:00 my number one rod goes off. Picked it up and had a nice feeling of a headshake. Ended up getting in this nice chrome hen that went just over 11 pounds.

So we went a little farther and I noticed one of my fish finders acting up. Went to start the big engine same thing as last week dead battery. Luckily had a enough juice to start the kicker. So I told Trouble we should start back and hopefully like last week the kicker would charge the battery enough to start the big engine. Well after running 45 minutes the big engine still wouldn't start. So Randy came by and towed me some of the way. He was running low on fuel so he had to cut me loose. I ran the last 3 miles to Tisdale bucking current and a headwind. Got there just in time to see Trouble show up in her truck with the trailer. Had the jumper pack in the motor home, just forgot to put it in the boat. I think I know what's causing my problems just need to investigate it.
This is a sight you really don't want to see from your boat.

At least I caught one this year, don't know if I'll be making it back before it closes. We need some rain bad and the river needs to come up.
