More than welcome At Lake Mc Clure

Postby twoelk48 » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:04 pm

After atttending last nights meeting in Merced and the discussions of what is happening with the EBMD Lakes I felt the timing couldn't be better to contact Bill Lattronica who is in charge of the recreational facilities for Lake Mc Clure and Lake Mc Swain. Bill assured me that Kokanee Power is more than welcome anytime it wants to hold a derby at Lake Mc Clure and that what we needed to do first was secured a derby permit from the Department of Game and the present it to him. His suggestion is that we should consider camping in the Barrett cove area whre there are campsites with electrical, water, and sewage with plenty of campsites. Also this area has a small grocery store, fish cleaning facility and boat ramp. You can go to their web site at www. Lake Mc Clure that tells you all about the recreational opportunities at this great facility and oh yes dogs are even alllowed for a fee. With the hassles gong on at Pardee perhaps we should rethink of using Lake Mc Clure as an alternative. There is great trout, salmon and kokanee fishing at the lake. Those who do not wish to pay the camping fees would be required to pay the day use fee per boat and vehicle. If I can be of any further help please contact me, Kent Mc Vey
