That is interesting. I made my first trip there this year at the tail end of a Shasta trip at the beginning of April and I hope to do the same this year as we found great Kokanee. These faces confirmed our good luck in finding Kokanee based upon the great advice of Captain Al.
Of course captain Al showed up there in May and caught lots of Kokanee along with an 18 incher. [/img]

I talked to those "in the know" and the plants are based upon what is seen in the spawning areas for the lake. So if there are no reds or activity to indicate a natural spawn is going well then they can boost Mother Nature with a plant. So while the great fish I caught this year makes things look healthy for this year there they have to plan for the future maturing fish.
I am sure I will drop down and fish it again this year after my Shasta trips.
