New Melones Trout Stocking

This years trout plant for the KP New Melones trout pens is complete.Thanks to KP volunteers John Kline and Anglernets "Goose" for all the help both in cleaning and stocking our pens. Glory Hole Marina staff were very helpful in cleaning and moving the pens.
This year the DFG Moccasin Hatchery supplied the Brown Trout for our plants, both pens have been stocked with browns this year. Each pen was stocked with 1,600 browns! The Glory Hole Marina Staff will be feeding the 2,000lbs of fish food (supplied by KP) to the browns all winter. During this time the brown's will triple in size. Come May we will be releasing more brown's into New Melones than ever before! While we were transporting the browns to the pens the DFG stocked 1,600lbs of Rainbows into the lake at the Glory Hole Launch ramp.
