Of the three lakes you want more info about I would suggest Melones since the fish are bigger than Pedro. Pedro fish were basically 12 inch fish at the derby this year where Melones are 13 to 15 from the reports. McClure is always a Kokanee mystery so other than trying to catch some nice Brook trout I would expect much in the Kokanee department from it as it gets really small plants. 2 years ago it had a nice surprise population of good size Kokanee.
As for Melones launch at Glory Hole ramp and always stop at the Glory Hole Sports up on the highway before you head down as they have a very big selection of Kokanee gear if you need anything last minute. You can get weekly reports here:http://www.gloryholesports.com/latest_f ... report.htm
You are sure to see a fleet of Kokanee boats in the hot spots around the lake like Rose Island, The Dam and probably the spillway. Glory Hole point, just around the corner of the ramp can have Kokes along the shorleine when there is enough water. Watch out for trees whereever you fish as there are lots of them in coves and certain areas and they eat downrigger gear for a living.
That should get you started but if you have more questions just ask.
