About Us: Kokanee Power of Oregon is a 501(c)3 Non-profit Corporation (Federal Employer Identification No: 26-2200279). We submitted Articles of Incorporation under the laws of Oregon as the “Oregon Fisheries Enhancement Foundation Inc.” on March 12th, 2008. We are incorporated for the specific purpose of conducting educational, research, and enhancement activities regarding Oregon Sport Fisheries. Our efforts focus on the Kokanee, Trout and Salmon programs in the inland waters of Oregon. Our primary focus is assisting the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in their ongoing efforts to maintain viable populations of these fish in public waters. We also offer cooperation and support to other private and public organizations with similar goals, strive to encourage public awareness and support for Kokanee, Trout and Salmon Fisheries, and promote fishing as a family activity. How We Got Started: For the last several years a group of Oregon fishermen and women have been fishing a circuit of Trout and Kokanee fishing tournaments in California put on by the “Central California Inland Fisheries Kokanee and Salmon Foundation Inc.”, dba: Kokanee Power. Observing the way this organization is run and the huge impact it has on the California Inland Fisheries, we saw an opportunity to expand this very successful business model across state lines into Oregon. Working together with Kokanee Power we have been successful in accomplishing this goal. An Historical Day for Kokanee Power: On Saturday March 22nd, 2008 in Stockton Ca., at Kokanee Power’s annual fundraising banquet, Gary Coe, President of Kokanee Power announced the inception of Oregon Fisheries Enhancement Foundation Inc, aka: Kokanee Power of Oregon. Through cooperation, together we will strive to encourage awareness and support for fisheries enhancement in the Pacific Northwest.
